May 15th, 2009

Rockwood grads are clearly in demand in high places.  In addition to the three alumnae/i  currently serving in the Obama Administration, two more fabulous alumnae/i have been successfully nominated for posts within the Obama Administration.

Gene Kimmelman, a graduate of Rockwood's Fellowship in Media, Communications and Information Policy, has been appointed chief counsel for competition policy and intergovernmental relations in the Justice Department. Gene previously fought for consumer protection and pro-competitive policies as the head of Consumers Union's Washington office.

Mary Beth Maxwell, a graduate of the Rockwood Leading From the Inside Out Yearlong Fellowship, has been named a senior adviser to the middle-class task force being headed up by Vice President Joe Biden.  Previously, Mary Beth was the founder and executive director of the pro-labor advocacy group, American Rights at Work.
