Leadership Now: Ohio Fellows will learn how to:
- Create, communicate, and sustain a powerful vision;
- Inspire, align, and manage individuals and groups toward effective partnership;
- Ensure accountability and high performance;
- Become more skillful at handling challenging interpersonal dynamics and difficult conversations;
- Increase sustainability and engage with tools to prevent burnout; and
- Manage relationships to increase personal and organizational effectiveness.
*All sessions will be hosted at the Buxton Inn located in Granville, OH.
SESSION 1: Art of Leadership, July 8-12, 2019
The Art of Leadership is an intensive residential retreat in which participants will hone their skills related to articulating a vision, managing difficult conversations, and identifying personal leadership strengths and challenges. Each participant receives a 360-degree leadership evaluation from their peers.
SESSION 2: October 14-18, 2019
The second fellowship retreat builds off of the tools and experience of the Art of Leadership and, fosters more opportunities for field dialogue. It is designed for leaders to enhance their skills in areas of both leadership and collaboration, including an examination of power (personal, positional and institutional), strategy and performance, and personal and organizational sustainability.
SESSION 3: March 23-27, 2020
The final fellowship retreat is designed based on the feedback received from the fellows about what is needed for them to continue to foster movement building and deepen their individual transformational leadership practice.
Additional Program Offerings
Peer and Professional Coaching
Coaching is both an important leadership skill and a resource for social change leaders. During the fellowship, leaders will be partnered with one or two other fellows to engage in a peer coaching relationship over the course of the program. Fellows will also receive two hours of professional coaching.
Leadership Practices and Additional Leadership Resources
To reinforce the tools of the fellowship program, Rockwood provides leadership practice assignments and course materials about leadership, partnership and organizations.

Trainers
José Acevedo
José is a senior partner at New World Consulting and an expert in facilitating the development of leadership skills and the creation of high-performing organizations. José has spent the last 30 years helping a broad range of groups throughout the world building effective learning teams that function innovatively in pursuit of specific organizational results.
Michael Bell
Michael is the co-founder, president and CEO of InPartnership Consulting Inc., an organizational development and strategic change firm specializing in global diversity and leadership development. Michael is a leader in the fields of organizational development, diversity and strategic planning.
Costs
Rockwood programs bring together best practices in transformative leadership led by facilitators with over 20 years of experience. The program has an estimated value of $12,000 per fellow.
This year, thanks to generous support from the Ohio Transformation Fund partners, the majority of the program budget is covered. The participant fee is sliding scale based on organizational budget:

Limited scholarship funds are available for which fellows can apply if needed. Room and board for the training is covered, but fellows are expected to cover their own travel.
