What do you do when you’re faced with problems that don’t have simple or obvious solutions?
This is a question leaders have wrestled with long before this moment. That’s why Rockwood created the Art of Navigating Change, a new 2-day virtual training that will allow you to discover how to exercise leadership through change and complexity.
You’ll bring a real problem you’re facing in your life or work, and explore how your current approaches to problem-solving may act as barriers to getting the results you seek. You’ll also learn tools and practices that will help you handle any type of challenge in the future, all while in a supportive, caring community of your peers.
Over 2 days, you will…
Develop a better understanding of what knocks you off-center and how to call in your better brain in order to address the situation
Learn to work with frameworks and tools for leading change in complex situations that require more than a quick fix
Develop a capacity for greater resilience and purpose for dealing with difficult situations and uncertainty
Training Details
Whatever type of problem you’re facing, this workshop will give you the space to address it while also growing your personal leadership and effectiveness. Building off of Rockwood’s 6 Core Practices and focused on real problems leaders are facing today, this training will help you see that how you do things is often as important as what you do. You’ll be better able to distinguish the different types of problems in your life and work, and you’ll leave with a comprehensive change model that can help you navigate them in the future.
Utilizing an engaging format with energetic pacing tailored for a virtual setting, this training will include short teaching segments interspersed with personal reflection, small group work, experiential exercises, guided meditation, and energizers for differently-abled bodies. There will also be appropriate breaks to give you time away from your screen.
Training Schedule
This training takes place virtually over two days. On both days, there will be a two hour early session beginning at 9am PT/12pm ET, a long break, and a two-hour later session beginning at 12:30pm PT/3:30pm ET. On the first day, there is also a brief tech orientation from 8:45-9am PT/11:45am-12pm ET.

Frequently Asked Questions
Do you need to have attended the Art of Leadership to take this training?
This training is open to anyone who’s interested in expanding and transforming their approach and mindset to solving complex problems. It’s a new offering that will touch on some of the same elements in the Art of Leadership, but is separate and standalone. The only prerequisites are to arrive with a problem in mind that you’d like to work through, and be ready to step out of your comfort zone.
I've already been to the Art of Leadership. Would this training be relevant for me?
Yes! While this training will allow you to reconnect with Rockwood’s practices, it is a completely new curriculum. You’ll gain new skills, meet new people, and have a unique and valuable opportunity to explore a problem that is challenging you and your leadership.
What will the two days look like?
Each day will be a live Zoom session. We’ll begin with a grounding opening, then we’ll focus on several Rockwood modules. The days will include a combination of pair work, journal prompts and group reflection for learning, as well as breaks when we’ll take time to be away from our computers. Prior to the training, participants will receive a welcome packet with pre-work and introductions to help set a container for your experience.
