Equity In Philanthropy Fellowship Nominations
NOMINATION CRITERIA
Candidates for Rockwood’s EiP Fellowship are 18 leaders who:
- See themselves as current or upcoming “key influencers” in the field and within their networks or community. This may include leaders in a range of roles in their philanthropic organization, including Program Officers, Associates, Assistants, Administrators, Operations, Grants Management, and IT professionals.
- Identify as Black, Latinx, Asian American and Pacific Islander, Native American, LGBTQIA+, and/or as a person with disabilities, with a particular focus on including leaders within the Indigenous, Trans, and Disability communities.
- Work in philanthropy at a grant-making institution.
- Demonstrate personal/professional readiness, including an understanding and practice of using equity values and principles in their work and an openness to learning new leadership skills.
- Can commit to all phases of the fellowship.
Ideally, candidates also:
- Are coming from foundations with annual grantmaking budgets below $40M.
- Are earlier on in their leadership (at least 1 year of experience in the philanthropy field).
- Are interested in or are currently intentionally redistributing wealth to their communities.
Please note: It is a top priority of Rockwood Leadership Institute to recruit and support the participation of leaders in the Indigenous, Trans, and Disability communities and leaders from geographic areas that have historically been excluded from philanthropic conversations. The cohort will be curated to represent a balanced diversity of social identities and geographic representation across the United States, including leaders from areas that have historically been underrepresented in philanthropic conversations (rural areas, states outside the coasts).
NOMINATION PROCESS
Selected nominees who fit this year’s criteria will be invited to fill out an application form. Select applicants will then participate in an interview. Up to 18 leaders will be selected for the final Fellowship cohort by August 2023.
We strongly encourage leaders in the Indigenous, Trans, and Disability communities and leaders from geographic areas that have historically been excluded from philanthropic conversations to apply.
