Memorial for LaMerle Johnson.

We are deeply saddened to share that Rockwood Leadership Institute fellow LaMerle Johnson passed away Wednesday, December 7th at Hidden Lake in Calistoga, CA.

LaMerle was a bright, loving, creative, brilliant light in a world that doesn’t always appreciate light. Just meeting him, and being in loving, learning community with him deeply touched me. I am reminded of the words of Nikki Giovanni who wrote:

…and if ever i touched a life i hope that life knows
that i know that touching was and still is and will always
be the true
revolution…

Thank you for reminding me of this deep and abiding truth, my brother, LaMerle. Thank you.

All of us at Rockwood send our condolences and love to his family and his community. Rest In Power.
